Landmark Trust stay at Whiteford Temple
First stay in a Landmark Trust property in Callington, Cornwall
We were excited to stay in a Landmark Trust property for the first time, called Whiteford Temple. The Landmark Trust buy listed or historic property in disrepair, faithfully restore them, and let them out for short holiday rentals. The rental income funds the trust and allows them to restore more historic properties in the UK and abroad, whilst adding unique stays to the holiday goers choice of accommodations. The property was a converted stone outbuilding in Callington, Cornwall that looks out over farmland which was used for grazing cows while we were there. The property had a lovely outside sitting area with views over the surrounding countryside. We spent our time exploring the local area and visiting the nearby towns of Callignton and Plymouth (seaside). We also visited the nearby Kit Hill, which offered stunning views over the surrounding area. Would recommend a Landmark Trust stay, especially if you are interested in history and architecture, but a word of advice – book early as they are very popular and can be booked up to a year or more in advance.
